High School Articulation Meetings As always, the team will look at each student as an individual. Each student's high school articulation meeting with address the needs of that individual student. Below is information to help you gain some understanding of how a typical meeting may occur.
Typical Meeting Agenda for Students Transitioning from STEP to HS:
-review of current progress (Academic/Speech/SW) (EW team)
-discussion regarding different programming options/class choices
-discussion on current related services and minutes per week in each
-review of freshman year schedule
-discussion regarding transition planning
Possible Schedule: (Please note that this is only an example schedule)
-The HS also follows a block schedule two days a week.
M/T/F-meet all 9 periods. TH-4,2,6,8 F-5,1,3,9
1-Math (Fundamentals teacher)
2-PE/Elective (TA support if needed)
3-Read 180 (Essentials teacher)
4-Read 180 (Essentials teacher)
5-Lunch
6-PE/Elective (TA support if needed)
7-Essentials class (i.e. Science, Social Studies, health, etc.)
8-Essential class (i.e. Science, Social Studies, health, etc.)
9-Learning Strategies (similar to Resource/Essentials teacher)
Freshman year-focus on academic skills and transition to HS.
Sophomore year-continue academics, possible in school job.
Junior/Senior years-continue academics, job training, out of school job, vocational training (CLC)
